Suni comes with excellent provenance having been designed by Swedish modernist architect and furniture designer Kerstin Hörlin-Holmquist for Nordiska Kompaniet.
Kerstin Hörlin-Holmquist was known for her curvaceous designs and this sofa is part of her ‘Paradiset Collection (Swedish for “Paradise” or “Eden”), which included this button-backed Paradiset sofa. This model features an immediately recognisable, organic shape that is very representative of Horlin-Holmquist’s designs and sits on sculpted beech legs
Suni’s design brings together classic lines with modern design. Her elegant curves and overhanging back and armrest create an almost sculptural appearance and the silhouette is enhanced by the two parallel lines of buttons following the curvature of the back. We have used a beautiful deep chocolate brown wool for the new upholstery which suits this design perfectly.
