All of our experience and expertise is brought to bear in the restoration decisions we make. Every frame is different, each piece carefully considered and planned, depending on its individual design.
The quality and craftsmanship of the furniture we restore is excellent. The pieces are vetted upon arrival and by our upholsterer before any restoration gets under way to ensure that only frames in strong solid condition undergo refurbishment.
We take care and do things properly – pieces are all stripped back and completely refurbished from the frame outwards. My main upholsterer comes from an upholstery family, (having worked for the family upholstery business with both his siblings prior to branching out on his own), he brings a lifetime of experience to the process.
I’ve worked with him for over 10 years now and over that time we have become a highly effective team – he raises an eyebrow at some of my fabric choices but has built up a real knowledge of these frames and knows exactly the finish I’m looking for. If anything I often step back from over specifying as I trust his eye implicitly and if he says something won’t look right he’s usually spot on, he’s as much of a perfectionist as I am!
We use high-quality materials, and beautiful fabrics we know will age gracefully, (see the fabric page for more details about the range of possibilities), to ensure our pieces have longevity and are as comfortable as they are beautiful.
