A bespoke Stedsans piece is one restored especially for you..

Browse our Frames for Refurbishment to find the perfect vintage frame, decide on the specification and choose a fabric from the wide range of collections we offer. We will be there to guide you through the possibilities and the process usually takes 8-10 weeks.

We ask for a 30% deposit to secure the frame of your choice and once you have decided on fabric and the details we can book your piece in for restoration and confirm timescales and delivery arrangements.

When your piece has arrived back we forward photos for your approval prior to the piece being wrapped for delivery.

The end result – a unique piece of midcentury design which will give you pleasure for many years to come.

Our Vintage Frames:

We have an eclectic range of Frames for Refurbishment, all of which are available for bespoke restoration.

The designs range from cosy 1930s curved banana sofas through to 60s angled ‘Mad Men’ designs. We source and import the vintage pieces direct from Scandinavia and they come with authentic design heritage and excellent quality of construction..

New frames arrive every 6-8 weeks and we are very happy to source pieces for customers if you have a particular style or size in mind.

Our pieces are always vetted prior to refurbishment and we only restore frames which are strong, sturdy and in excellent vintage condition.

We always advise customers to come and try out our frames in person as each one is different and details such as seat heights, backs and angles all make a difference.

Once you have decided on a frame we ask for a 30% non refundable deposit to secure the piece.

We are proud of the links we have with many of the best British fabrics brands as well as individual textile designers such as Eleanor Pritchard and Newton Paisley. It allows us to offer customers a wide ranging and eclectic range of Fabric options for their bespoke piece.

We can send you a range of swatches to consider and are always happy to discuss possibilities and offer guidance.  We always advise customers to look at fabrics in the space where the sofa or armchair will sit as different light can make a big difference.

The guide prices indicated for bespoke restoration are using our ‘standard’ range fabrics, which are often 100% wools. We offer some ranges which are more expensive and some which are a little less expensive. We will always let you know if any particular fabric range will affect the guide price given.

All of the upholstery materials and fabrics we use meet UK Fire Retardancy Regulations for domestic use as a minimum. We can also specify Crib 5 fabrics if a piece is going into a public place or business.

There are many ways of making a bespoke piece truly unique and different frames can suit different treatments. Contrast buttons, back cushions and piping are all possibilities with our bespoke service and we are always happy to make recommendation and guide you through the options.

Sometimes a different specification, such as piping in a contrast fabric or back cushions, can affect the overall price but we will always let you know about any cost implications in advance.

When everything is finalised we can confirm timescales for restoration and will agree the final order details including a delivery date.

Following restoration we will forward photographs for approval and all being well the balance is then due prior to the piece being wrapped for collection and delivery.

Our bespoke prices include delivery to most parts of mainland UK in line with our Inclusive Delivery Service T&Cs

We always advise customers to read through our bespoke Terms and Conditions prior to proceeding as they differ slightly from our standard Terms and Conditions as we are creating a bespoke piece just for you.
