We absolutely love these original 1930s banana frames, their design is cosy and enveloping and they are wonderfully well made. The arced profile also makes them perfect for alcoves or under windows. This frame has lovely back detailing and brass capped front legs which lifts it above the norm.
This sofa is available for bespoke refurbishment in a fabric/styling of your choice or also for sale ‘sold as seen’ in its current vintage condition.
The vintage condition is excellent. The frame is sturdy and strong and the 80s upholstery is in very good vintage condition, there is a small amount of superficial fading on the seat and arms but this sofa really is in great shape for its age and a nice comfy sit. We have tried to show the condition in the photos but please contact us for a more detailed condition report.
Our bespoke restoration service would entail a full refurbishment, from the frame outwards, using the finest quality materials and fabrics we know will age gracefully and be able to withstand modern life. The aim if for these pieces to feel like new whilst retaining their original design narrative and all restored pieces comply to current fire retardancy regulations for domestic use as a minimum.
